WBENC’s Mission

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) is dedicated to advancing the success of Corporate Members, certified women’s business enterprises, and government entities in partnership with its Regional Partner Organizations (RPOs).

WBENC’s Core Values

The WBENC’s core values are Opportunities, Certification, and Resources.

The WBENC’s tagline is “Creating Opportunities … Recognizing Excellence”. The focus on “opportunities” benefits WBENC’s members by providing informal and formal programs, tools, and events to connect Corporate Buyers with WBENC certified Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) who have the ability to meet their business needs in a specific capacity.

The WBENC certification is an accomplished business application and review process conducted by a trained Certification Review Committee to ensure that women owned businesses applying for certification are at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or group of women. This percentage is a requirement on which WBENC was founded as a key service to Corporate Members interested in doing business with women-owned businesses. The WBENC provides and manages the development, implementation, and enforcement of its gold standard of certification. It is nationally accepted by over a thousand major corporations as well as a select group of government entities.

The WBENC provides a broad range of resources to Corporate Members and WBEs. For Corporate Members, WBENC offers a series of nationally provided training and tools to advance the Corporate Members’ ability to grow Supplier Diversity programs, best practices, trends in Supplier Diversity, and professional development.

Certified WBEs are offered a series of nationally provided training, including graduate level Executive Education programs, and tools to help to better understand how to compete in a diverse procurement environment and operate their business and grow their capacity to full potential, in order to meet corporate needs.
