Validation and Trace of SSN

Help validate your applicant's identity through our Identity Verification Services

Verification of an applicant’s address history and personal information gives you confidence in your applicant’s integrity and is often used as the foundation of any comprehensive background check process. It helps uncover past locations and profile details that may reveal important records relevant to the hiring decision.

Social Security Number Verification Services

Social Security Number Validation

This identity search verifies whether an applicant’s Social Security Number (SSN) is valid by using data from the Social Security Administration (SSA). It also checks the SSA Death Index to identify any inconsistencies. Additionally, the service confirms if the SSN holder’s name, date of birth, and SSN match SSA records by retrieving the information directly from the SSA.

Note: the SSN Validation search does not confirm that the SSN belongs to your candidate. This must be done through a Consent-Based Social Security Verification (CBSV).

Social Security Number Address Trace

This identity search helps identify the names and addresses associated with an applicant’s Social Security Number (SSN). This information may be used to request additional public record searches within the jurisdictions corresponding to the candidate’s identified addresses, providing a more complete background history and uncovering potential records that may not appear in a standard search.

Why Conduct a Social Security Number Trace?

Employers must ensure that applicants represent themselves as accurately as possible during the hiring process. When our experts conduct a Social Security Number (SSN) validation, employers gain insight into whether the SSN provided by the candidate is accurate. This service also helps identify candidates who may have changed their names or omitted address history from their application. As a result, it opens new avenues for background checks and criminal record searches that might otherwise go unexplored. To learn more about how we can support your screening needs, contact us today.
